Transpor Material

Post by Doug »

FYI,
Came across this material at the Sportsman Show yesterday, looked amazing.
http://www.hyperapparel.com/
It is a very expensive ($50 for a t-shirt) "hydrophobic material".

"Transpor" is the material used in "Hyper Apparel"

Any one ever use this stuff?

I haven't used this brand specifically, but I know the concept. A company called underarmor makes a similar product to this, and it is very popular and has become much more so in the last few years. At the chain I used to work for in one year the sales went from $20,000 a year to over $1 million (US) a year in just one year. Almost all the athletes are wearing this stuff. I had the chance to test some prototype clothing not too long ago for a company called Jet Wear. It was based on the same concept with an antibacterial thread built in. It worked just as they claimed it would. It wicked quickly, was cool in the heat and hot in the cold. We changed some on the fit of the garments that I tried, but it still fit very very tight, and it has to fit tight in order to work, so even though I still have the prototypes, I don't use them much, because of how tight it has to be. I don't find that comfortable.

But it really does work.
