This site never ceases to amaze me. Everyone is so helpful and nothing is too much trouble. It certainly restores your faith in human nature and says a lot about people who build boats.

Richard, I agree 100%! I started a few years ago with only Gilpatrick's book (which is very good) but stumbled on to Bear Mountain and it has made everything so much better. This boat will be getting scuppered gunwhales, used flute and cove, no staples, and lots of other great time-saving and beauty enhancing ideas. And it's great to know you aren't alone.

You built a beautiful boat yourself, there.

Hi Greg,
Thanks for the compliment, but the build was not without problems. The epoxying was a nightmare. The outcome of this is, I will have to build another boat, probably a Hiawatha.
I am considering stapleless so it would be interesting to hear of your experiences.

Regards,

Richard
