A successful float hunt

Post by BradRob » Thu Nov 26, 2009 10:08 am

Last year during my prospector build i envisioned taking it out on a float hunt that i do annualy in my area. This fall i took her out for a float hunt to fill my last doe tag. I did this float solo. I portaged the boat down to the river about 1/4 of a mile and gently slipped her into the water. I silently glided over the water through the cedar forest.
Fifteen minutes passed and i saw a doe standing inside the cedars. Slowly i put the paddle on my knees and gently raised the gun to my shoulder as i glided broadside to the doe. She looked up from her feeding and then the gun went off and she dropped. I loaded her into the boat and quietly went on my way to the pickup point. I cant explain the sense of accomplishment that i felt. I look forward to next year.
