Fresh water mermaids?

Post by Patricks Dad »

All accounts I've heard about mermaids have been in salt water. Why don't we have mermaids in fresh water?

just wonderin'

There used to be freshwater mermaids at one time. They all looked like Pamela Anderson, with the extra "flotation" up front needed in less dense freshwater. They were all caught by fishermen and now there are only saltwater mermaids left. This is why mermaids never have very ample measurements since too much will interfere with their underwater hydrodynamics.

I can assure you this is all true, I read it on the internet.

I understand that Pamela Anderson is from Canada so that would make you an expert on this topic (in addition to the internet supporting your position). There might be some saline involved in the Pamela Anderson angle too...

I think the monsters ate them, you know the likes of Ogopogo and the Loch Ness ones.

I never went through the whole scientific approach like Rick did though, just going on a hunch.
