This is my answer to those meal replacement bars or health bars that in my mind are mostly junk. The nice thing about these is that you can adjust them to make them your own and also leave them out for the kids to go wild. In brackets are some alternative suggestions on ingredients . With a mixer blend together 3 very ripe bananas ( mango , peaches ) ;1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour ; 1/4 cup olive oil ; 1egg ; 1/2 cup of molasses ( maple syrup , corn syrup , brown sugar ) 1 tbl of cinnamon ; 1/2 tsp salt Blend until completely smooth .Then spoon in 1 cup of finely chopped apple ( pear , kiwi ) ; 1 cup chocolate chips ( satans , chopped dates, butterscotch chips ) ; 3 cups of oatmeal ; 1 cup of chopped cashews ( sunflowers seeds , pine nuts , peanuts ) ;1 tsp baking powder . After it is well mixed ( the oatmeal should not look dry ) with a table spoon. Spoon out about 6 dozen little footballs on 2 greased cookie sheets and bake at 350 for 20 - 25 minutes . These are a staple we bring with us for all our outdoor activites summer and winter . Enjoy Paul :D
