Shin Pad Tape

Post by DSJ »

You know the stuff that hockey players use on thier socks ? I use it all the time in the shop.
it's clear and stretchy plastic tape. it's moderately sticky, is made to be removed easily and doesnt leave any residue. However, it sticks very well to itself.
epoxy and wood glue dont stick and its great for lining the edges of canoe forms or wrapping gluing cauls.
Since it stretches, its good for clamping odd shaped work and It works great for lashing things to seats and thwarts on canoe trips. I've never had an issue with it affecting a painted or varnished finish.
Best of all, It's cheap, usually under $1 a roll
