Narrow Strips

Post by Dingo Lab »

I am about to begin stripping. The ceder strips I have will end up being about a sixteenth of an inch narrower than the recommended 3/4 inch. Other than needing more strips to complete the hull, is this going to cause any problems for me?

Thanks.

No problem. In fact some people mill very narrow strips to use in difficult areas such as the bilge and closing in the center.

Narrow Strips

No problem at all, in fact I sometimes use even narrower strips (5/8" or 1/2") for the turn of the bilge or for curved strips on kayak decks.

Enjoy your project.
