Post by Robbie »

Well I didn't get the shell tacked back to the stations yet due to (change of job stress's and time) . The keel is poping out out of the shell. There is no keel instal but the stips at the kee lin(herring bone) is popping.Any way to stop it?
Thanks for your help

Robbie,
If your strips aren't laying flat along the join line, try wetting them down with a hot towel and then take a 3" board, lay it edge-wise along the keel line, and use packing tape or band clamps from the shear line around the canoe to apply pressure downward and get the strips flattened. Let dry a day or so and then remove the cawl, glue, apply tape to the bottom edge of the cawl and re-clamp the cawl.

Thanks Greg, Sorry for not getting back sooner.
I took on a new occupation that's taking a lot of my time and just getting back here is a lucky and desired moment for sure.
I'll use your technique tomorrow. Again, Thanks so much.
Oh Bye the way....everyone ready for Christmas?*LOL*
Cheers, Robbie.
