cutting kevlar tape

Post by ILcdr »

Can anyone recommend a good tool for cutting kevlar tape. I bought it from Raka and noticed they had a pair of scissors for about $35. Should I break down and buy the scissors?

Thanks in advance,
Dave.

I own a couple pairs of very expensive, teflon-coated shears specifically designed to cut kevlar fabric and sailcloth. I use them for paperweights. I get a better cut with a pair of orange-handled $8 Fiskars fabric sissors from the local fabric store. The stuff never cuts easily, compared to most fibers, but I'll never spend big bucks on special Kevlar sissors again.
