Ryan,
A very pretty canoe. I really like the accent stripes. What woods did you use?

Very nice lines... the accent strip has a nice gradual curve to it which makes it and the other strips near the sheerline, pleasant and relaxing to look at. I'm sure you'll get plenty of enjoyment seeing it on the water and in various places, with the pattern of strips combined with the lines of the canoe.

Ditto what all these other guys said!

Although I'm not clear on why you chose a steel guardrail for a portside gunwale. :smile

Thanks for the kind words.

Greg- The hull is made from western red cedar, which started life a 5/4 decking from Menards. The decks and accent stripe are made of Walnut with the deck having a basswood stripe. The gunnels are Northern White Ash and the seats, thwart, and yoke are Black Cherry.

I haven't been here for quite a while, and just thought I'd pop in and this was the first post I opened - glad I started here - what a beauty you've made. A real classic. Those cherry seats must look awsome in person.

Cheers,
Kerry
