After building a planked strip 12” motor canoe, I am now considering to build an 18” Indian Runner (with a diesel engine).
In the plan I read that 30mmX18mm strips are used. I prefer to work with thinner strips, as stripping the hull will be much easier. If I apply fiberglass on both the inside and the outside, can I safely reduce the thickness of the strips (western red cedar)?

Re: strip thickness
Using fiberglass will allow you to reduce the thickness of the strips but by how much, I do not know.
