What I have been doing in my other spare time

Post by TC in Twin Lake 1 »

Initially, I was daunted by the 150-200 hours Ted Moores says is required in Canoecraft to build your first canoe. I probably took that amount of time to do it but to get over my concern i only had to look at my other wood project........

I think between me, my FIL and BIL and supporting cast of wives and kida we probably have 2000-3000 hours into our "cottage". Roofs on, windows are in plumbing, electrical and building rough-ins all done and approved by inspections. We are just finishing up the T&G white pine on the gables and will be starting the chinking this fall. We started this in 2001 with the felling of 156 red pines planted by my FIL and his mother in 1947. We have done everything ourselves except ship the logs to our lake site. I have gotten very good with a chainsaw to saw the least. It is 30x40 with about a 26' ridge pole height.

We joke that we will fix all over our mistakes on the next one.

Thanks for looking

If you look on the sill plate just inside the crawl space acceess you will find it. The key to the pontoon boat is in the ignition and there is enough gas for a few laps around the lake. Have fun. Just leave it as you found it. Might be a little rustic yet though. :laughing

Thanks
