18 inch Baseline

So... what should I do if the baseline on my original plans are not actually 18 inches? They range from 17 7/8" to 18" at the extremes.

I originally thought my copies where really off, but the originals are that off as well.

You will find that the paper will resize itself depending on humidity that day.

The suggested method of tracing the forms is to use 2 sheets of carbon paper, face up and face down, trace one side, flip over and use the carbon line traced on the back to trace the second half of the shape on the mold using one sheet of carbon paper face down on the mold. If you have all your baselines and centre lines ready on the mold material you can easily do them in a couple hours and eliminate variances in the paper. cut 2 tiny square windows on the centre line of the plans and 1 on the baseline of the plans which will make it easier to line up on the lines you have drawn on your mold material.

I have been tracing as per the book. I was just surprised that the baselines were off. Not enough to worry about though. So back to tracing I go.
