two part hull sanding question

Post by anthony karakas »

Hello everyone,

I am at the outer hull sanding stage of my project. Every time after i fill the gaps with epoxy, i sand and then i notice there are new gaps to fill. I have repeated this process more times than i care to admit. My first question is, can i assume that small pin hole size gaps will fill and not be noticeable after i put the fiberglass and epoxy coating on?

My second question is, after wetting out the hull, do i then sand while the hull is still wet, or should it be allowed to dry?

Thank You!

Very small gaps will fill with epoxy when you glass. Keep an eye on them when you glass so the glass is not starved due to seepage of epoxy into the gaps.

After wetting out the hull (with water), let it dry before the final light sanding.
