freedom solo blueprint question

Post by anthony karakas »

Greetings Friends,

As i look at the blueprints for the freedom solo, the main elevation shows the 15' version, with exact locations notated for the seat, thwarts and center of buoyancy.

I have built the stretch version; am I to assume that everything stays the same relative to the station mold locations?

Thank You

Anthony,
The seat location should be scaled just like the rest of the boat. That means all length-wise dimensions shown on the drawing would be increased by a factor of (12.75) / 12 = 1.0625.

You can do the same with the thwart locations, although I thought about this for a bit - whether they would stay the same absolute distance apart. On further reflection, I think they are best to be expanded as well to support the gunnel.

I look forward to seeing some in-the-water photos.

Regards,
Steve
