Hey folks, I'm on the board of a non-profit named Chicago Voyagers (http://chicagovoyagers.org/). Chicago Voyagers' focus is on helping at-risk youth in the city get out into nature. Our mission statement is:
Empowering at-risk youth through outdoor experiential adventures that foster healthy relationships and responsible behavior.
Outdoor activities include biking, hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, caving, skiing and of course canoeing.
As a fund raiser, I've been asked to lead a group of interested adults (not kids) on a week-long trip in the Boundary Waters of northern MN (that didn't take much arm twisting ). We can take a crew of 9 and currently have 8 people signed up. We will be leaving the Chicago area on 7/26.
If you live in the Chicago area (or not too far away), and are interested let me know and I can fill you in on the details. If you know someone who might be interested pass this on.
Thanks!
