New birdmouth paddle
Here's a couple pics of a new birdmouth paddle I'm in the process of finishing. It took some effort to glue this blade together but it looks pretty good...
Several times in the past when I've been paddling that I wished I had a pair of binoculars handy to look at a bird (or whatever). By the time I got them out, the bird was usually gone. Having a monocular already in your hand might be convenient…

Here's a few birdmouth paddles Patrick and I have built lately in various stages of completion (the two on the left still need a few coats of varnish). I'll probably build one more before starting my next boat...

I think I'm done with building paddles for the season... Heres' the final line-up (minus 1 already given away)...
4 on the right still need varnish...
Average weight 16.2 oz.

Those look great, Randy. You have me inspired to have to give it a go some day.

Hi Randy,
I am getting the itch to make a couple of paddles, now that building season is here. I have eyed the designs in this post since I first came to the site, unfortunately the links seem to be broken now. Any chance for an update or new links?
Thanks
Brian

Any chance they could be freshened again?

Re: New birdmouth paddle
Sorry, It looks like individual facebook pictures can no longer be referenced with links... dang. Well, here's a link to one of my facebook albums that contains (among other things) a bunch of bird mouth paddle pictures (including a few new paddles I've built recently). No need to be a facebook user to see these.
