Hello all, the Redbird I built almost 20 years ago is getting heavier (patches/repairs etc) as I get older and weaker! Our usage is roughly 50/50 solo/tandem, predominantly flat water, with occasional light tripping. I am absolutely bowled over with the Redbird design and we've paddled it all over the U.S. and southern Canada on both day weeklong trips. I picked the design for it's sheer beauty then but learned to love it for its performance and adaptability. These days the tandem trips tend to be day or one or two nighters and longer trips are solo affairs. It seems the Cottage Cruiser would meet the requirements i stated earlier if I built it keeping weight in mind, but it is important that I confirm that the hull is symmetrical before I purchase the plans.
Thanks, Walt
Is the Cottage Cruiser hull symmetrical.

Thanks Jim, I thought so too, just wanted confirmation before ordering the plans.

You could just drop a note to Bear Mountain and ask ....

Hi all. The Cottage Cruiser is indeed symmetrical as graciously confirmed by both Joan and Ron Frenette. I've just ordered the plans and am looking forward to the build. Now, where'd all those clamps I bought 17 years ago get to?!
Re: Is the Cottage Cruiser hull symmetrical.
