Fibreglass cloth overlap

Post by JoeP »

When sheathing the outer hull, do you wrap the cloth across the front of the stems? IE with an overlap?

Never try to do that Joe .... the way the cloth is laying won't allow it to turn that sharp and take the shape. Typically you run the clothe forward and once you get to that part, you cut the bottom part (like a crease) back to where it meets the stem.
Then continue with the epoxy, trim off the excess after the first coat get set.

I did a few pics and description on my current build here http://www.canoetripping.net/forums/for ... uild/page7

look down about 3/4 of the way to the bottom, I think it is what you are asking
