PFD recomendations

Post by DortoH »

I am looking into buying a proper PFD for my solo canoe. I have looked at a lot of paddling PFD's but would like to hear any suggestions or experiences, good or bad.

Also what are some of the things to look for in a good paddling PFD? Besides floatation :)

Hey Hotrod,
Comfort and no restriction of paddling motion is my main concern.
Everything will be OK[img::]http://www.mikenchell.com/forums/images ... uryi3b.gif[/img]

Comfort, ease of movement, bright color, and lots of pockets. I usually get 3 out of 4.

I sail more than I paddle but for sailing I like an inflatable. Mine is manually activated. Can't beat it for comfort.

Check out West Marine's website. I use a CO2 inflatable when sailing, and it inflates either automatically or manually as desired. Very small and inconspicuous when deflated, but works great when inflated. Kent
