Sorry Glen,

I forgot to specify that it has a steel pilot instead of a brass one. There was a comment earlier about the brass not burning the wood. Further thinking about this though has made me realize that it will not be touching the wood anyways. The canoe is glassed and epoxied and the inwale and scupper areas are pretreated with epoxy by this time also. I preepoxied only the scuppers on the inwales knowing I would not be able to get my brush down in the 3/8 gap once they are glued on. I think the epoxy should take the abuse of the pilot bit. Are there any opinions about this logic.
