Glen, I was counting on you to post pictures of the Rendezvous weekend. Thanks.
I almost made it ... I stayed overnight at Rice Lake, and was on my way into Peterborough Saturday morning … I was only about 15 minutes away from Del Crary Park … when my cellphone rang, and I had to turn back & head home.
I trust a good time was had by all … if there’s a 3rd annual Rendezvous, I’ll see you all there.

06 Rendezvous Pics
I, just having finished my first Stripper thought it would be a good thing to take it to Peterborough and display it wih all the others. Boy was I wrong! For those of you who didn't go You missed a fantastic opportunity.
The canoes and Kayaks were great to see, some real history, art and craftmanship were on display. Please look at the pictures I took from the 2006 Rendezvous.

The opportunity to meet and talk to the people who are a virtual Who's Who of Canoe Design, Construction, Recording the History of the Canoe and those who continue to carry on the great traditions of the Canoe and Kayaks was the real Prize!
At the Bear Mountain Shop Saturday Evening I had the opportunity to spend time talking to all those people including Ted Moores, Glen Smith, Steve Killing and a whole bunch of others was, without a doubt, the real Gem to be had by attending.
I'd recommend it to anyone interested in Canoes & Kayaks wether or not you have a canoe. There was a lot to learn just by being there.
Hope to see more there next time,
phil w.

Doug,
Finally had a chance to look at your pics. GREAT Looking Canoe!!
I am really interested in the method you used to do the fancy design on the bottom of the canoe. Is there instructions some where I can go to see how to do that type of work.
Also, how'd the Beavers like your busting over there handy work?
Regards,
phil w.
