Redbird strongback and forms

Post by WMegl »

I have finished my Redbird and if I build another cedar strip boat, it will be a kayak. So, I wish to sell the strongback and forms. The stem forms are damaged from removing them. They could be used to trace a pattern for new ones. Does anyone have experience on what a used strongback and the forms for a Redbird might be worth?

If anyone on this forum is interested in purchasing them, please reply to this post. I am in the St. Louis, Missouri area.

What a time saver that would be for anyone wanting to build !

By the way, your Red Bird looks great, as well as strongback and forms !

I bought a very well made strongback and forms, from a guy in Minnesota. It was years ago. A real bargain at $75. The strongback , a T top, was specific to a canoe, of that length. Yours will fit solos as well as most tandems.

Hope you can find some one local. that you can share your knowledge with !

I sold the strongback, forms, drawings, and the stapleless clips to a local buyer for $300.

Jim: Exactly!

If I build another boat, it will be a kayak. Any suggestions on a model?

Again, thanks to all on the BMB Forum for your assistance!

SO -- I haven't thought this much ... but why are the forms damaged from removing them?
