Good start, but looks like an excess of glue on the outside.

My first canoe, It looked like I slathered the glue on ! Sanding the inside taught me a very valuable lesson !
I didn't have a ROS in those days. Sanding the inside was a Nightmare !
Good luck !

I am learning Jim ... there a bit less glue lately. Plus I've been praticing sharpening my planes. there is too much glue.

Fortunate there is a lot of sandpaper

A helpful hint for the glue, make it a habit to go back in about 15-20 minutes (or when it is skinned well) with a dull putty knife, run it along the glue line and it just lifts off cleanly, the rest can be left to dry and will not be a sanding issue

Yes ! ROS is a Random Orbital Sander.

I've fallen in love with my 5" Bosch Variable speed ROS. A great buy for the money.

Unfortunately the glue drippings on the inside are hard to get to, to wipe them off ! They are also the hardest to sand later !

I use a tiny bead of glue, the diameter of a pencil's lead. in my coves. More than enough !

Good Luck !

I am kind of a tools guy ... I don't have a rotating orbital sander ... just one of these palm sanders ... but perhaps a DA pnuematic is in my future.

I trimmed the centerline amidst a bit of trepidation.

Looking good, almost time to make sawdust, not my favourite part .... but it is where the boat goes from a pile of strips to a sleek craft.

Don't forget your respirator when you start, cedar is especially not good to breath.

So -- Brian.

I spent one year in a silkscreen shop, where the primary ink in play was an epoxy ink. So I am hyper sensitive. So for me it's a space suit. -S
