I've finished 3 canoes. They took from 125 - 200 hours, and between 3 and 10 months. I'm not building one this year as we are putting on an addition. So far I have built a Freedom17, a Rob Roy and a Bob's Special. My goal with the Rob Roy was to build a very light solo canoe. I go 240#, so I stretched it to 14' and it was perfect. Cutting molds
I now use a band saw since I bought a good one. After one bad experience with an inaccurate mold I am very careful. I rough cut 1/4" proud and then final cut. I also have an accessory table I add to the saw for support.
