F17 First strips

I'm about to start stripping the F17 and was wondering whether or not to follow the sheerline with the strips. As this is a fairly flat canoe with no recurve it shouldnt look like a banana or would it? Would it be much more difficult to plank the bilge area? I placed a batten on the 7th and 9th mold...

Good news :smile Thanks to you all for keeping me on the right track. Today I visited my local big hardware outlet ( B&Q ) to price some mdf and plywood. I couldn't believe it when I found pine strips 6x18x2440. 6x44x2338. 6x68x2338. They are not bead and coved but that shouldn't be a problem. I...

Hi Glen Thanks for the prompt reply. I like the way the strips on the strip canoes blend together. I don't think it is as nice on the stitch and glue canoes although I am sure they work just as well and are a lot cheaper and quicker to make.
