Kayak seat position

Post by Matthew Kerr »

I have finished two Venture kayaks and am about to set the foot braces and the seats. My question is is there a particular spot to set the seat for balance in the kayak? Or do I leave putting the seat in permanent till I can get it on the water and find a good spot?

There is usually about 3 to 4" of space between the seat back and the rear, inside edge of the cockpit coaming but if you can do an on-water test to find the correct spot for your particular situation, that would be ideal.
