I don't build with stems, and I see on the internet, Beginners having trouble beveling stems.
I wonder if Bear Mountain could put up a very detailed video for educating Beginners on this process ?
Thickness of stem forms, material selection, and glue reccomendations.

You should check out Bear Mountain's You Tube channel https://www.youtube.com/user/Canoecraft ... _polymer=1. If you go to the bottom of the page and click "load more" a couple of times there are quite a few videos, some of which deal with stems.
How to Laminate Stems https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzthTJxyi3c
Shaping the Stems https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xw7D_-myb68 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wa1FzPJUfp0
Gluing the Outer Stems https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GiRJE2Hfklo
Shaping the Outer Stems https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKeCs9Zb0D4
They also sell this video, which covers the building of a canoe from start to finish. https://www.bearmountainboats.com/colle ... ecraft-dvd.
I haven't seen the video, but there are three excerpts on the You Tube channel above, and one is about shaping the stems. Nick Offerman is great because he is both a woodworker and an actor, but also a first time boat builder in this video.

Re: Stems
Great links Steven !
An issue that has been brought to light, is the thickness of stem forms.
Those using 3/4" plywood, are finding that it is too hick. By the time they taper the inner stems to " Fare", they are cutting into the 3/4" stem forms.
This creates a problem if they Don't tape off the stem forms, to prevent glue sticking.
Thanks for posting the links Steven !
